Good mornin' everybody! Nathanael loves to make friends with anybody. Here he is at breakfast talking to the people at the table beside us. He ate scrambled eggs and yogurt for breatfast. We are OUT of jar baby food because he just loves the stuff, and obviously we under-bought. Hopefully we can get more today.
He decided to wear his plate as a hat so he got noodles in his hair.
Just let me down so I can socialize!

He let me hold him for like 10 seconds, which is nothing to sneeze at!

This waterfall is actually inside the hotel. Very cool.
There are hundreds of koi fish in the miniature river. I will have to get some better shots of the koi later.
Walking to the place to get the visa photos taken. The whole group from our agency is walking together. I bet it's funny to the locals to see a long caravan of touristy Americans with their cameras rolling, but they should be used to it since it happens here all the time.
This is the place where the visa photos are taken. Nathanael doesn't smile for the picture, but at least he doesn't cry either. We were able to buy 3 jars of baby food at this place, 2 jars of apple banana and 1 jar of some kind of tuna vegetable stuff. It cost us about 8 dollars! When we fed it to Nathanael later, he liked the apple banana kind but not the other. I can't say that I blame him!

Photo session for visa is over now. Walking toward the medical exam.
More walking. These pictures don't do it justice. It is a very beautiful section of Guangzhou. All the trees and buildings remind me of upscale New Orleans or Key West, Florida.
If you look closely at this signpost you can see arrows to the White Swan Hotel and Starbucks Coffee. Some in our group are excited to see Starbucks in the area.
Statues like this old man with a fiddle are all over the place. In the distance you can see a fountain. This area is so nice. We will have to go back out and see more when we have time to stroll.

First room, the doctor checks ears, nose and throat.
Smooth sailing. Nathanael is holding a squeaky fish toy.
No problem. Sign here Mommy.
After the nurses got his weight on the scales, we came to this doctor. There was another squeaky fish. Daddy, the handy bag carrier guy, had an antibacterial wipe on hand for Mommy to wipe the fish before giving it to Nathanael to hold. If you know Keyanna, you know how she is about germs.
Doc checked the heart, lungs and breathing. Then he did a full body exam. Nathanael cried....
...But not for too long. The doctor said he is in excellent health. OK, we can go now!

In front of the train restaurant. Nathanael is already asleep and it's just after 12 noon. Mommy's shoulders are starting to hurt so we need to head back to the White Swan.
This is a concrete support for a very large tree that was made to look like a tree trunk. I thought it was cool.
The tree limb had grown so heavy, there was this concrete support made to hold up the limb.
After nap, we go to the Swan Room, which is a playroom for the children. Nathanael had a ball!

Next we meet the group in the lobby and walk to Lucy's. It is a restaurant that caters to American visitors.
Wow, this boy will eat anything! Yep, that is broccoli. We didn't have any baby food so we got him some chicken congee. Congee is watery rice that Chinese feed to their babies. This is almost like thick rice soup with chicken flavored broth. Doesn't sound too good, but it's not bad. I tried it. Nathanael ate the whole bowlfull.
After supper, we went for a walk by the river with a couple in our group. They have 2 boys at home and they just adopted a litte girl who is right around Nathanael's age. They are a fun couple and we are glad to hang out with them! They are from Montana.

Back to the room. Here is the crib. Nathanael is sleeping like a champ in this thing!
It was a fun day. We are really liking having companionship with other families going through the same things we are going through. We can't believe less than 3 more days before we start heading back to the U.S. It can't get here soon enough. We are really missing our children back home!!!
