First day in Zhengzhou

For the most part it was a day to rest and relax. We checked out the hotel pool and exercise room. We did not swim, but we worked out. We both did some weights and I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes while watching the Chinese swimmers out in the pool. This afternoon several other American families arrived at our hotel who are also adopting. The family right next door to our room has 2 biological girls, 1 boy already adopted and now adopting their 2nd, also a boy. It was really cool to meet them, and we may see them tomorrow at the Civil Affairs office on Gotcha day.

Here are a few pictures around the hotel and on our walk to the bank and grocery store.

You may have heard of the bridge to nowhere. Well here we have the staircase to nowhere. Yeah, we don't understand it either.

We had stargazer lilies like these at our wedding because they are Keyanna's favorite flower. God reminded Keyannd that no matter where she is He loves her and can still send her flowers. Beautiful!

Enjoying our first breakfast in Zhengzhou

Started off with an omelete, bacon & donut, then broccoli, fried rice and veggie rolls. Breakfast is our power meal. Load up for we may not be eating again other than snacking in the room.

People watching on another level when it's people of a foreign culture. So interesting to see mannerisms and hear conversations even though we don't know the language.

Hitting the streets to walk to the bank and grocery store. Not for the faint of heart! It's chaos in every direction.

Back to our hotel after quick trip on foot to Bank and a grocery store. I think every American should have to visit China every few years in order to appreciate traffic in the U.S.

    So glad to see you guys are doing well. Guess what - that's the hotel we stayed at!!!!! A few tips - there is a hotel next door (Holiday Inn I think) that has a "Noodle" restaurant. We ate there several time - $5 for a bowl of noodles that would feed us both. There is a Wal-Mart not too far from there that we went to for formula, etc. There is a "traditional" restaurant across the street that we ate at several times with other families. Our guide went & got the menu & helped us with food choices. There is a beautiful (and huge) park a few blocks away that we enjoyed going to. As I type this, I also realize that you will probably have your "gotcha day" where we had ours - so neat.
